# Wrong Discord account

> You signed in with a different Discord account from the one the verification link was made for.

> Sign in with the Discord account that joined the server

Every verification link belongs to one Discord account. This error means you signed in on the verification page with a different account from the one that joined the server.

It usually happens when you're logged in to one account in the Discord app and another one in your browser.

## Fix it

**1. Get a new link**

Click **Verify** in the server's verification channel, or open the DM AuthenticateMe sent you.

**2. Check the account Discord shows**

When Discord asks you to authorize AuthenticateMe, look at the account at the top of the screen. If it's the wrong one, click **Not you?** and sign in with the account that joined the server.

**3. Authorize and wait for the result**

Click **Authorize** and keep the page open until it shows the result.
