# Virtual machine or anti-detect browser detected

> Your browser or device looked like a virtual machine or a browser that disguises itself.

The server blocks virtual machines and anti-detect browsers, because they let one person look like many different devices. Some unusual setups can look like one by mistake.

## Common causes

* Browsers that disguise themselves or spoof their fingerprint
* Running Discord or your browser inside a virtual machine or sandbox
* Uncommon browsers, or devices from lesser-known brands
* Some Linux setups

## Fix it

1. Use a mainstream browser, such as Chrome or Edge, with no extensions turned on.
2. If it still fails, try another device, such as your phone with Chrome or Safari.
3. If nothing works, contact the server's staff with a screenshot of the error.
